Connecting AI-ready, Industrial Data with AWS and Aspen Technology

Unlock value from your IoT data on the AWS Cloud

July 22, 2021

Aspen Technology is embedding AI throughout industrial manufacturing environments. Our leading-edge software helps industrial companies achieve their goals in safety, sustainability and operational excellence. For 40 years we’ve earned the trust of our customers by consistently delivering solutions that unlock new levels of performance today and tomorrow.

Working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), AspenTech has built a solution for historians and IoT data that effortlessly migrates real-time production data to Amazon S3. Amazon S3 (Amazon Simple Storage Service) is a service offered by AWS that provides object storage through a web service interface. Amazon S3 uses the same scalable storage infrastructure that Amazon.com uses to run its global e-commerce network. Amazon S3 can be employed to store any type of object – storage for internet applications, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data archives, data lakes for analytics and hybrid cloud storage.

AspenTech has achieved an AWS IoT competency. With AWS IoT services and our AWS partnership, together we can help our customers plan, develop and successfully execute an Artificial Internet of Things (AIoT) project that meets the business needs of our industrial customers. To attain this competency, AWS has vetted, validated and verified our solutions as having demonstrated AspenTech has achieved an AWS IoT competency.

Aspen Cloud Connect™ is a data integration solution built for enterprises with diverse historians and data sources. It links enterprise and industrial data sources to the cloud and transmits both live and historical data to its destinations. Aspen Cloud Connect enables Aspen InfoPlus.21® (IP.21) tagged data, or third-party enterprise data, to be streamed to on-premise or cloud based AspenTech products or applications. In this video, we show how to configure Aspen Cloud Connect to collect tagged data from an Aspen InfoPlus.21 server and upload it in an Amazon S3 bucket.
