To turn a waste oil handling site into a seaside residential and commercial gem, it was necessary to assess the near surface. This case study explains how Aspen RMS™ geologic modeling software was used to conduct a geological analysis of the area through an integrated geological modeling process.

The result was significantly reduced near surface uncertainty, helping to avoid major surprises that could lead to unexpected overruns in project cost. Integrating all available data in a 3D model eliminated the need to acquire costly extra geotechnical ground penetration data, saving 25-50% of the subsurface analysis cost.
