DGM Webinar Series: Ambient-Adjusted Ratings (AAR) and Thermal Limit Management

On December 16, 2021, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued Order No. 881 Final Rule. The order requires transmission providers to implement ambient-adjusted ratings for near-term transmission services inside and outside organized electricity markets. All transmission providers must comply with FERC Order 881 and implement ambient-adjusted ratings (AARs) by 2025.

This webinar provides an overview of the monarch solution and its capabilities that support FERC order 881 requirements. The core of the ambient ratings solution is the new OpenAAR product, which manages the processing of AAR data and provides the appropriate ratings to be used for SCADA and OpenNET in real-time and study applications.

Watch this webinar to learn about the requirements of the FERC Order 881 and see a demonstration of our OpenAAR solution including:

  • A summary of the AAR use cases
  • Details on the following solution areas:
  • Ambient ratings in real-time operation
