Data are entered into Aspen Basic Engineering (ABE) once, then maintained in a single, up-to-date central repository shared by team members in all locations. ABE manages data for multiple process cases and allows for different controlling cases to be selected or assembled for each equipment item.

Deliver consistent and up-to-date diagrams and datasheets.

Project deliverables are populated from the central repository and are automatically updated as data change. Aspen Basic Engineering includes out-of-the-box support for PFDs, MSDs, DPTDs, and P&IDs, together with a library of over 190 templates for industry-standard and best-in-class datasheets and lists.

Transition rapidly to the Basic Engineering Package.

Expand the Conceptual Design embodied in simulation models to create initial PFDs with templates that capture your best practices. Use engineering judgment to drive the expansion process. PFDs may be further expanded to create preliminary P&IDs.

Integrate with industry-leading and in-house design tools.

Aspen Basic Engineering loads multiple cases of data from major process simulators (including Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and Aspen Custom Modeler). Data can be transferred to Aspen Exchanger Design & Rating for detailed calculations. In-house engineering tools (including spreadsheets and in-house programs) may also be integrated to leverage the shared data.
