Aspen Supply Planner develops an optimal plan for use of labor and equipment, raw materials or feedstock, inbound/outbound transportation, storage capacity, and other constraints that may affect the decision of what to product, when, and in what quantity, balancing the tradeoffs between all constraints to meet management goals.

  • Enterprise Planning and Decision Support: Builds optimal production, distribution, and inventory plans. Calculates optimal inventory target levels for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Supports S&OP process with production and distribution plans by product, customer, families, regions, facilities, or any other category. The solution determines the optimal use of resources and sourcing patterns, considering enterprise-wide capacities of production and distribution assets. Business objectives, such as cost minimization or profit maximization, are used to develop the plans.
  • Constraint Analysis: Surfaces previously unrecognized constraints so they can be addressed (e.g., sources of inventory problems such as variability, high stock levels, or frequent run-outs).
  • Models Simple or Complex Business Situations: Supports both made-to-stock and made-to-order manufacturing environments, including an unlimited number of supply/demand points and intermediate storage facilities. Robust purchasing handling accommodates multiple suppliers and multiple pricing tiers.
  • Enterprise Scale Deployment: Supports enterprise-wide connectivity and management of data and models. Inter-application integration supported by a common data model. Provides robust data exchange with ERP and other data systems.
  • Powerful Scenario Analysis: Provides value-driven analysis capabilities that enable planners to develop and compare multiple scenarios for operations across multiple plants. The differences between various “what if” scenarios are easily discerned through graphical or tabular comparison.
  • Reporting: Provides graphical and tabular formats that are easily customized using templates to meet organizational requirements. Web-based S&OP and Supply Planning reports are available for enterprise-wide access to data and analysis during the planning process.
