GCSel - Particulate Gas Cleaning Equipment Selection
GCSel is an expert system to assist in the selection of
particulate gas cleaning equipment for a given task. The method is
based on that described in the Process Manual - Gas Cleaning
technical area. Input is divided into three areas: technical
screening, process screening and sensitivity screening. Different
priorities on the various aspects of an equipment's performance
that are of interest can be set up by the user and the software
compares these with the characteristics of over 30 different types
of gas cleaning equipment, ranking each one against the entered
priorities. Minimum data is required to initiate the selection,
since major categories of the gas cleaning equipment can be
eliminated with only a few criteria. GCSel can be used to identify
those areas where further data is required to refine the
selection.
