Numerical Analysis Group
The Numerical Analysis Group at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is one of the world’s leading groups in the solution of sparse linear systems and of large-scale nonlinear optimization problems. Software developed by the Group has been described in a large number of published journal articles. The Group's activities, including the development of HSL 2007, are primarily supported by an EPSRC strategic grant.
The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is part of the Central Laboratory for the Research Councils (CLRC). Situated in south Oxfordshire, it employs around 1200 people, who support the work of over 10000 scientists and engineers, mainly from the university research community.
