History

AspenTech was founded in 1981, with the sole objective of commercializing technology developed as part of the Advanced System for Process Engineering (ASPEN) Project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since that time, AspenTech has acquired more than 20 industry-leading companies as a part of our strategy to offer a complete, integrated solution to the process industries.
